Learn to Fly with Bedfordshire School of Flying

Welcome to Bedfordshire School of Flying - one of the Cabair Group's most exciting schools due to it's location: Time to take flying lessons at Cranfield airport!

Our unique selling point has to be our close proximity to Cabair College of Air Training - one of the most prolific suppliers of First Officers to the airlines - worldwide. Complete your PPL with us and you will be mixing it with trainee airline pilots!

We have a very smart fleet which includes Diamond Star DA40 glass cockpit aeroplanes and the Robinson R22 and R44 helicopters. Here at Cranfield Airport, it is an excellent place to train - particularly if you have desires to go on for further qualifications such as Night Rating or an IMC (Instument & Meteorological Conditions). There are NDB, VOR and an ILS approaches plus two hours of night time licensing in Winter.

Cranfield Airport played a big part in the Second World War and was a base for Blenheims, Spitfires, Typhoons, Mustangs and Mosquitos - an air enthusiasts dream! After the war it became a centre for test pilots and soon the College of Aeronautics was established in 1946 - expanding in the fifties to offer postgraduate and research-intensive technical courses - something it is known for today.
